Why do I need compulsory motor insurance?
An electronic policy guarantees compensation for damage to property and health caused to the other party in an accident. Buying online is cheaper and faster than at an insurer's office, and the policy appears in the MTSBU registry right away.
What is the shortest term of compulsory insurance?
A policy normally runs for one year, and a new one can be bought three months before the current one expires. The exception is 15 days for cars temporarily registered in another country; a 6-month option is available too.
Do you charge a commission?
No. You pay exactly what the insurer charges: we sell policies at their own prices, with no markup and no hidden fees. The price in the calculator is the price of the policy.
How is the price of a policy calculated?
The base payment set by law is multiplied by coefficients: the type and engine size of the car, the city of registration, the term of the policy and any entitlement to a discount. In the smart calculator your bonus-malus class is added too — the insurer pulls your driving history by tax number.
Does an electronic policy work right after payment?
Yes. The policy is issued right after payment, registered with MTSBU and delivered to Diia and to your email — it takes effect on the start date you chose.
What documents do I need to buy motor insurance?
A quote needs only the plate number, and the smart calculator also asks for your tax number and date of birth. To issue the policy we need your ID details and registered address, plus a card to pay with. There are no scans to upload: you sign the contract with a one-time identifier that we show you before payment.
Who qualifies for a discount and how is it confirmed?
The insurer currently accepts one category — combat veterans. Tick “I have a discount” in the calculator to see the reduced price; you will need to confirm it with a document when the policy is issued.
What if I made a mistake in the policy details?
Write to us in the chat as soon as you notice — we will pass the request on to the insurer. A correction before the start date is simpler than one after it, so do not put it off: a mismatch in the plate number or the owner details shows up when the policy is checked.
